Today the diagnosis doesn't own me

Today I am more than HIV positive

And my blood is just blood, and not poison, or the river sticks or Godless

Today I’m bearer of the ghost, no longer a graveyard, I’ve become a garden

And what grows here is not dead

And what grow here will not kill you

And what grows here is the sweet fruit at the root of mercy

I am full of so much

Every dawn I see is truth I’ve been spared    

Dance with me in that thought for a while

Watch my body not die and not die

This miracle that never stops being a miracle

for I know death well

It come to my door everyday, hungry for my hand

I tell him wait

Coz today is not a day for sadness or truth or the blood that wont stop

Today is a day for nothing to be enough

To swallow the sun and still not be satisfied
